How to organise an ART Day Course
Section outline
-
The ART Training Scheme offers training, support and motivation to ringing teachers:
- New teachers quickly learn a range of techniques and skills that give them the confidence to teach and be successful.
- Experienced teachers refresh and build on your existing skills.
- Everyone benefits from the resources and ideas which meet people’s expectations of a hobby in this day and age.
To run the day courses, which form part of the ART Training Scheme, we need local course organisers who support our Tutors by:
- making arrangements for the tower, refreshments and lunch
- promoting the course locally
- using local knowledge to help the ART Tutor arrange suitable teacher/mentor pairings for after the course.
- providing on-the-day support for the ART Tutor (or arrange for someone else to undertake this role)
The resources in this section will provide you with the help and guidance you need to arrange a course in your area. For further information please contact events@bellringing.org

Resources to help you arrange a course
If you are ready to send details of the intended course please fill in the course request form below.
How to promote your course:
- Personal contact is the best way to get someone to sign-up to a course
- Be persistent
- Sell the benefits, not the course
- The more ways used to promote the course, the better
- Use local photos wherever possible
- Use the resources below
- Use this link to advertise course details - https://bellringing.org/about-teaching/teaching-modules/
Paying for course places
Delegates are asked to pay for their course place when they book. They can either pay via PayPal, use a debit or credit card (this is processed by PayPal, but you don't need a PayPal account to do this) or via a bank transfer.
If a guild/association or tower wishes to provide free training for their members then they can buy course vouchers in the ART shop in advance to pass on to delegates. Delegates then simply enter their voucher code when they register for the course and no payment is required from them. Vouchers can be purchased here.
